Over the past couple years at Thunder Coffee, I have gotten the opportunity to work on a wide variety of merchandise. Thunder’s image has shaped over my time there, so I have had to adjust what I’m creating to grow with them. Early on there was little branding direction.
With the launch of their roasting program, the roaster wanted to lean toward a western-influenced image. I took on the challenge of taking his idea and making it work for us. My goal has been to pull from old western branding while maintaining a modern yet light feeling for our products.
I also face the challenge of accommodating both the owners’ vision and making it work for our audience. Our team likes a bit of an edgy image inspired by traditional tattoos and Americana. I enjoy the challenge of taking those influences and shaping them into more approachable designs for a wider audience.
My goal is to keep a balance of designs for out customers. There are options with a skull cowboy for those into that and options a bit lighter for those who aren’t.
